We are going to spend a few weeks learning about and praying a prayer Jesus taught His disciples.

The prayer is called The Lord’s Prayer. It goes like this:

This week, we will just use the first part of this prayer.

Jesus’ prayer starts by calling God “Our Father in heaven.” Why do you think Jesus called God our Father? Here is a song about God as our Father.

Jesus called God our Father because God is like the best father ever! He loves us and calls us His own kids.

He will never stop loving us!

Jesus’ prayer continues with praising God for who He is and telling God that we want to live His way—in fact, we want the whole world to know and love Him!

It’s time to count some reasons to praise.

How old is the oldest kid in your family? Work together to name a reason we have to praise God for each year that oldest kid has been alive!

Naming great things about God is an awesome way to praise Him! Another way to praise God is to choose to live God’s way—by loving and caring for the people around us, making sure that no one is left out or treated badly.

Ms. Stacy started teaching us this song a couple of weeks ago. Let’s sing it again as a prayer for people who might feel left out or have been treated badly by others.

Next week, we will learn more about praying the way Jesus taught us to pray!

Have a wonderful week!
