DESCRIPTION:Join us this Sunday Evening to formally install David Anderson as our Called Pastor. Prior to this David has been our Designated Pastor. In the Presbyterian church there are protocols for pastoral transition. David has been our Designated Pastor for a bit over two years\, the minimum required period after which we can call him as our called\, installed Pastor. SUMMARY:Congregational Meeting
DESCRIPTION:A little over two years ago our pastor Craig Williams resigned and David Anderson was called as our Designated Pastor. According to PCUSA polity\, a Designated Pastor is assigned to a church for a period of at least two years and no more than four years. This generally gives a church space to find a new pastor. In our case\, we could pursue the pastoral search process and find a pastor\, or we could ask our Designated Pastor\, David\, to remain as our Called Installed Pastor. It is the feeling of Session that we all want David to remain and be our Called Installed Pastor and according to polity Session serves as the Nominating Committee. As such the Session unanimously voted to have David be our Called and Installed Pastor. That decision was submitted to the Presbytery and they voted to approve the Session’s decision. Our next step in this process is to have a Congregational Meeting so that you can vote to have David as our Called\, Installed Pastor. That meeting will be on March the 5th immediately following the service.
